I wanted to explain to lutenists why they should use gut strings instead of plastic ones, but Maestro Gabriel Rignon was better than me:

Per il contrabbasso si propone un set costituito da due Cordoncini di Roma (Sol-Re) e da un Cordone di Roma (La), mentre le corde basse restanti, non essendo più in produzione le Filate in argento, possono essere eventualmente integrate con dei Cordoni di Roma o delle Appesantite in Rame
