I wanted to explain to lutenists why they should use gut strings instead of plastic ones, but Maestro Gabriel Rignon was better than me:

"I’ve used your strings for my last two solo recordings. I left it too late to order directly from you, so I ordered from Olivier Holzenburg (https://holzenburg-verlag.com/strings/) – it’s brilliant that he has them in stock.
And I wanted to tell you how lovely it was – and how much it changed the sound and the digital feel of the instrument to have the chance to play on your strings."

Cordedrago creates various types of strings, based on historical documentation, scientific literature on the subject, musical iconography, surviving specimens preserved in museums and public and private collections, but above all on direct experimentation.

It is precisely from the comparison between theory and workshop practice that it was possible to develop the various types of twisting, or even to invent new ones.

The development of the various models was also made possible thanks to the collaboration of professional musicians who contributed with their criticisms to eliminate the defects and to obtain the best performance on the various instruments.

For this reason it is essential to maintain a direct relationship with the musician, to offer a tailor-made service.

Finally, it was decided to connote the various types of gut strings with the indication of the city of traditional production, because this was also done in ancient times.
